Outstanding Student Reading Ambassador from 2017

While signing up* for the PRC, schools will be asked to nominate an outstanding Student Reading Ambassador from 2017.  Nominees would have promoted the PRC and reading in general during last year's Challenge.  Note that the three Student Reading Ambassadors who won last year cannot be nominated for this prize.

One statewide winner will receive a Family Reading Lounge Experience for their family at the UTAS Stadium in Launceston on Saturday 28 April at 7.25pm (Hawthorn v St Kilda).

30 runners-up from across the state will also be able to attend the same game with a parent or carer.

Student Champions

School PRC Coordinators may nominate one Student Champion* from their school by sending an email message to prc@education.tas.gov.au before Monday 2 July 2018.  The email message must include the student's name, year level and give details about “extra effort, beating personal goals, overcoming challenges”.

The winning Student Champion in each region receives a $100 book voucher.

* Note that schools may recognise students' achievements with an e-certificate that can be downloaded and printed from the Downloads page.

Completion Certificates

Students who complete the Challenge by reading 10 books in 10 weeks will receive an individually printed certificate signed by the Premier.

At any time during the Challenge, teachers or the school's PRC Coordinator can mark students as having completed the Challenge using the PRC Application

Home educators send an email message to prc@education.tas.gov.au to let us know their students have completed the Challenge.

The final day for letting us know that students have completed is Monday 2 July 2018.  If we are notified of completions after this date, blank completion certificates may be provided.

Completion prize packs for students

Students who receive Completion Certificates will also receive a prize pack.

Items for the prize packs will be sent to schools and home educators with their students' Completion Certificates.

Each student will receive a bookmark, a sticker sheet and a specially printed eraser.  Prep students will also receive a chunky pencil.
